The cabinet meeting of the Punjab government is going to be held today. The time of this meeting has been fixed at 11 am. This meeting will be held at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1, Chandigarh.
In the meeting, there is a possibility of approving the charging policy for non-irrigation works and preventing the falling level of ground water in the state.
Under this, canal water will be provided at cheap rates for industries and commercial purposes so that the falling level of ground water can be prevented. An agenda in this regard is coming in the meeting. Similarly, the water management policy-2024 can be approved in the meeting.
There is a plan to build ponds of one acre each to conserve ground water. The soil of these ponds will be used in construction projects.
There will also be an agenda related to Maharaja Ranjit Singh Technical University in the meeting. Apart from this, a meeting is also coming on the agenda related to food grains of the National Food Security Mission and the structure of posts in the Ayurvedic University. Apart from this, many other important issues are likely to be discussed.
