Chandigarh: Punjab Police held a press conference and made claims regarding the arrest of Amritpal Singh. According to the media, IG Sukhchain Singh Gill has told that Amritpal Singh was arrested at 6.45 in the morning under the joint operation of Punjab Police and Intelligence under NSA by surrounding village Rode from all sides.
He has said that the Punjab Police has been building pressure for the last 35 days and was working in coordination with other security agencies. Amritpal Singh has been taken into custody. He will now be dealt with according to the law.

Amritpal Singh has been arrested from village Rode at 6:45 am. Punjab Police and Intelligence Bureau had input that Amritpal village is in Rode. The entire village was cordoned off but it was inside the Gurdwara Sahib, so we maintained the etiquette and made sure that there was no tampering with the etiquette.
When he was surrounded from all sides and there was no choice, he was arrested at 06:45 in the morning. He has been arrested under NSA. After which he has been detained and sent to Dibrugarh Jail. It was a joint operation of Punjab Police and Intelligence Bureau.
