Aman Arora took over as the Employment Generation Minister

Chief Minister of Punjab To fulfill the commitment of Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government to provide maximum job opportunities to the youth, Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora today asked the officials of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department to meet the needs of industries and modern To work more proactively to skill the youth as per the changing trends of time.

He was presiding over a meeting here after assuming charge as Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training.

Reviewing the functioning of the department, Mr. Aman Arora emphasized that skilled workers should be readily available as per the needs of the industries so that the gap between the needs of the industries and the skilled workers can be bridged. He also asked the authorities to prepare a comprehensive plan to train the youth in areas where there is plenty of employment so that they do not face any problem in getting jobs.

Giving a presentation, Secretary Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Mr. Kumar Rahul and Director Mrs. Deepti Uppal informed the Cabinet Minister that 1,21,335 candidates have been assisted by organizing 2003 placement camps for employment in the private sector. Besides imparting skill training to 32,383 candidates, 80329 candidates have been trained for self-employment by organizing 799 camps.

He further informed that five multi-skill development centers at Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana are training the youth in various courses.

Director Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute Major General J.S. Sandhu, Director Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, Director General C-Piet Major General Rambir Singh Mann also briefed Mr. Aman Arora about the functioning of these institutions.

In this meeting, Joint Director Employment Generation Department Mrs. Sanjeeda Berry, General Manager Punjab Skill Development Mission, Punjab/PGRKAM. Mr. Surinder Mohan and other officers of the department were also present.
