According to the IMD, strong winds are expected in the northeast and adjacent northwest Arabian Sea on March 24. Fishermen are advised not to visit these areas. In view of the stormy weather, the IMD has issued a yellow alert in several districts of Rajasthan and has issued a yellow alert for Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar and North-Eastern states. According to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance is active in Iran and its neighboring areas. It is likely to move eastwards towards North India during the next 2 days.
Damage to crops due to rain
About 3 percent of the wheat crop has been destroyed due to rain, hail and wind in Haryana and Punjab. Where the land has collapsed and is submerged in water, the grain quality is poor.
