Heavy rain continues in Punjab today. Due to this, on the orders of the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary has called a meeting of the officers of all the departments. Orange alert has been issued for East Malwa today on Monday. Along with this, there is a yellow alert for Doab, under which there will be heavy rain in the next few hours.

Punjab Government Chief Secretary Anurag Verma has called a meeting of officials of all departments regarding the rescue work and other preparations due to heavy rain. This meeting will be attended by the officers of all departments through the VC. Regional officials of all departments including police, powercom, administration, agriculture have been asked to participate in this meeting.

Apart from this, with the help of NDRF, rescue operations were started in the surrounding areas of Kiratpur Sahib. Today, following the vigilance, the DC of Ambala has given instructions not to use the Haryana-Ludhiana National Highway 44. Along with this, the water of rivers and canals in the state is flowing above the danger mark. Because of this, 15 to 20 villages around the Sutlej river have been evacuated.
