Amritsar: Days after Ajnala clash where hundreds of supporters of controversial self-styled preacher Amritpal Singh stormed a police station in the northern Indian state of Punjab, Waris Punjab De head Amritpal Singh paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar on Friday morning.
Amritpal Singh was accompanied to Golden Temple with high security personnel and weapons.

While addressing the media at Golden Temple, Amritpal Singh made a big statement about the recent Ajnala clash. He stated that he and his organization Waris Punjab De is ready to surrender if someone proved them wrong in the principle and theory.
When he was questioned on carrying weapons in Golden Temple, he stated that he is practicing the principle of Miri –Piri. Miri represents temporal authority and Piri represents spiritual authority. The concept of Miri Piri brought a change into the Sikh Faith by establishing a Sikh army, adorning weapons and inspiring the Sikhs to adorn weapons and learn martial arts as well.
He further added that, “I am resident of Punjab; whoever is in trouble should go out. Punjab is our land and our elders have shed their blood.”
He also demanded the release of Bandi Singhs, the Sikh prisoners who have served their prison sentences.

He further added that several media channels announced to declare Amritpal Singh as a terrorist. “If those who help people to quit drugs and drug addicts from Punjab are terrorists in their eyes, then yes we are terrorists.”
Meanwhile, during his visit to Golden Temple he also met Akal Takht jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh.
