It is to be mentioned that in the meeting of Panj Singh Sahibs held on 6 December 2023 at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, a 5-member committee was formed to cancel the death sentence of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana and negotiate with the central government for the release of other captive Singhs.

An order was also given by the Panj Singh Sahibs that if the central government does not cancel the death sentence of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana by 31 December 2023, then the SGPC should consider its appeal regarding him.

Because in response to the letter sent to the Prime Minister, it has been asked to discuss this matter with the Home Minister, after which correspondence is being held with the Home Ministry.
