Punjabi (Punjab) Police action against farmers who burn stubble is continuing. In Punjab, the police have registered an FIR against 932 farmers. So far Punjab Police has registered more than 7 cases. In these cases, a fine of more than one and a half crore rupees has been imposed on the farmers. However, there is a decrease in stubble burning cases in a few days. Police are continuously taking action in different provinces of Punjab. DGP Gaurav Yadav has been meeting with officials for the past several days.

The police has given information on the cases of stubble burning and claimed that there has been a decrease in the cases of stubble burning in the last 2 days. In the state, 740 cases of farm fires have been reported on Sunday and 637 on Saturday. Till now 7405 cases have been registered in Punjab. A penalty of Rs 1.67 crore has been imposed on farmers in Punjab.

Strict administration

Strictness is being used continuously in the entire state regarding the cases of stubble burning. DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav is holding daily meetings with range officers, CP/SSPs and station in-charges to take stock of stubble burning situation in the state. Also, 1072 flying squads are monitoring the stubble burning to keep a check on the matters.
