About 1.5 lakh posts are vacant in all the three armies of India

Vacancy in Indian Armed Forces: There are 1.55 lakh posts in all the three armed forces of India. Of these, 1.36 lakh vacancies are in the Indian Army alone. The government gave this information in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

In a written reply, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt said that shortage of officers in the armed forces and measures to prevent it are being continuously monitored. He said that many steps have been taken to encourage the youth to join the army.

Bhatt said the Indian Army has a shortage of 8,129 officers, including the Army Medical Corps and the Army Dental Corps. Apart from this, 509 vacancies are available for Military Nursing Service (NNS) and 1,27,673 for JCO and other ranks.

The minister said, 252 posts are vacant in Group A of the civilians recruited by the army. There are 2,549 vacancies in Group B and 35,368 vacancies in Group C.

There is a shortage of 12,428 personnel in the Navy. Apart from this, 10,746 sailors, 29 medical and dental officers and 1653 officers are vacant. On the other hand, 165 Group A posts of civilian employees are vacant in the Navy. In Group B this figure is 4207 while in Group C it is 6156.

Along with this, 7031 posts of soldiers are lying vacant in the Indian Air Force. Apart from this, 721 Officers of Medical Assistant Trade, 16 Medical Officers, 4734 Airmen and 113 Airmen posts are also included. 22 Group A, 1303 Group B and 5531 Group C posts are vacant for working citizens.

When will the recruitment be done on the vacant posts?

The government has not told when the youth will be appointed to these posts. However, the government has certainly told that the government is taking continuous steps to appoint these posts.

The recruitment process is being simplified so that the youth are being appointed at the earliest. The government has also set a target of filling 10 lakh posts in the next one year. In such a situation, it is expected that the notification for recruitment to these posts will also be issued as soon as possible.
