A terrible fire broke out in a house in Shastri Nagar area of Mandi Gobindgarh. This area is so narrow that neither fire brigade jeep nor fire engine could reach here. Seeing the situation, the fire brigade department immediately controlled the fire by installing about 500 meters of pipe, due to which a major accident was avoided. Otherwise, a short delay could have caused damage to nearby houses.
Additional District Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar and Fire Officer Jagjit Singh of the fire department present at the spot said that they had received information about a fire inside a house in Shastri Nagar. Due to the narrowness of the area, 2 fire department personnel first took fire extinguishers on motorcycles with small cylinders.
Fire Officer Jagjit Singh said that as the fire was terrible, he immediately tried to take the vehicles of the fire brigade to the spot. However, vehicles could not reach the spot. As far as the carts could go. They were stopped there. About 500 meters of pipes had to be laid from there to the incident site.
According to him, the fire could be brought under control after one and a half hours of struggle. The fire had also reached the gas cylinders but the firemen pulled out the cylinders in time. The cause of the fire is believed to be short circuit. This has caused a loss of lakhs of rupees. A major accident could have happened due to the fire, which was avoided.
