Seeing so much cash, the intention of the accused got lost, after which the accused started planning to rob Manjit Singh. After making a complete plan, the accused chased Manjit Singh on April 11 and after stopping him on the way and robbing him, killed Manjit Singh by stabbing him with a needle. After this, the accused escaped with a bag containing cash. After the incident, the accused parked the Activa some distance away and after that they escaped in a Swift car. Kuldeep Kaur was driving the Swift. After the investigation, the police have arrested two accused, while the third and main accused Jobanjit Singh is absconding. The police had reached Delhi to arrest him, but he got angry and escaped.

He had left Gurdaspur and came to Ludhiana on February 16 and was staying in a hotel near the railway station and for about two months he was asking Manjit Singh what time Manjit Singh left home and when he reached the shop. The police say that the accused had stolen the Activa from the area of Division No. 3 a few days before the incident after making complete planning and had planned to commit the incident only on the stolen Activa. A Swift car was also used in this incident. which belonged to the neighbor of accused Kuldeep Kaur. He asked his neighbor for a Swift car. That car was used by the accused in the incident.
After the incident, the accused left the Activa some distance away. After this, the accused escaped with Kuldeep Kaur, who was already standing with the Swift car. In the investigation of the case, the police found the Activa within a few hours. When the investigation was done, it was found that the Activa was stolen which was stolen from the area of Police Station 3.
