Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the desecration of Gutka Sahib of Gurbani in village Shahur Kalan of Gurdaspur district. Advocate Dhami said that the continuous occurrence of incidents of desecration of Gurbani in Punjab is a matter of great concern.
He said that due to the occurrence of such incidents, the sentiments of the Sikhs are hurt and the peaceful atmosphere of Punjab is disturbed. The Shiromani Committee President said that even when the culprits of blasphemy are caught, they escape punishment due to lax performance, which boosts the morale of such elements.
He said that Gurbani shows the way of life to man. Strict punishment should be provided for those who desecrate Gurbani, so that such incidents do not happen. He also appealed to the devotees to respect the holy Gutka Sahib of Gurbani kept in their homes.
