He said that in the second week of July, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had released funds of Rs 10 crore for the repair of water supply schemes and directed that clean drinking water should be provided to the affected people. Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa had also held a meeting with the officials and field staff of the department and instructed that there should be no shortage of clean drinking water in the flood-affected rural areas.
It is to be noted that the beneficiaries of the water supply schemes which were affected due to floods were ensured supply of clean water through alternative arrangements on the instructions of the Chief Minister and in the areas where water could not reach through pipes in sufficient quantity. Water tankers were sent.
Cabinet Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa has informed that more than 97 percent of the water supply schemes of the villages affected by floods have been repaired. He said that out of 369 water supply schemes of south, north and central zone 360 schemes have been repaired.

Gimpa said that the renovation work on a total of 9 schemes including 2 schemes of Rajpura Division and 7 schemes of Jalandhar Division No. 3 is going on and soon these schemes will also become functional. Officials and employees of both the circles are actively working to repair them.
