Inaugurating the Tax Intelligence Portal at Excise and Taxation Bhavan, Excise and Taxation Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the portal will help state tax authorities to analyze and monitor tax collection and tax compliance in their jurisdiction.
Cheema said the system caters to the needs of field level offices and enforcement to identify defaulters and tax evaders and also provides backward supply chain verification linkages and actionable reports to fiddle officials of the department.
Effective analysis of various data available through this portal, compliance by taxpayers, better checks in verification of returns, ease of audit processes, complete supply chain analysis, live monitoring of return defaulters and calculation of interest on late tax payers. Will get help.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet Minister also flagged off the newly purchased 8 Innova cars of the Tax Department. He said that to further strengthen the capacity of the department, 42 more such vehicles will soon be added to this fleet.
Harpal Singh Cheema urged the officials and employees of the department to work diligently and said that the state government is committed to meet their infrastructural needs.
On this occasion, besides others, Finance Commissioner Kar Vikas Pratap, Tax Commissioner Kamal Kishore Yadav, Excise Commissioner Varun Rujam, Additional Commissioner-1 Viraj S. Tidke, Director Investigation Tejveer Singh Sidhu was also present.
