7 lakh jobs coming soon in these cities of India

Jobs in India: The festive season is approaching in India. Many festivals are coming one after the other. Meanwhile, e-commerce businessmen have started preparations keeping in mind the needs and preferences of the customers. Shopping during the festive season is expected to create around 700,000 temporary jobs in the second half of 2023, according to a new report by TeamLease. Let’s know in which cities all these jobs will come and in which profile.

Demand for blue collar workers

According to a recent analysis by Teamlease, there are currently around 2 lakh jobs available for temporary workers in the industry. Most of them are jobs related to delivery and warehouse operations. They are also called blue collar jobs. Jobs that do not require much education. According to the report, temporary employment is also expected to increase by 25 percent during the festive season this year as compared to last year. This shows that the Indian economy is developing positively.

New jobs can come in these cities

According to Teamlease, apart from tier-1 cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai, India’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities like Vadodara, Pune and Coimbatore have seen a steady increase in demand for blue-collar job workers. Workers such as warehouse functioning, delivery executives and call center operators are in high demand in metros, tier 2 and tier 3 cities.

The recruitment of blue collar workers is going well

During the holiday season across the country, a large number of temporary workers are being hired to provide a better experience to the customers and to run the business smoothly without any interruption. Due to this, the job market is booming in many cities and local economies are also getting a lot of boost.

Balasubramaniam, Vice President and Business Head, Teamlease Services said, ‘Over the past 5 years, we have seen a 20% year-on-year increase in demand for blue-collar workers and this growth is expected to continue for the next 2. – 3 years Hopefully, especially in a business like e-commerce. Hiring starts in July for the holiday season and currently there are more than 200,000 vacancies in the e-commerce sector alone. By December 2023, this number is expected to increase to nearly 700,000.
