Police has nominated 8 persons including Congress leader Inderpal Singh Jandu in the case of shooting with a licensed pistol outside the Ludhiana court. He is close to Congress leader Kamaljit Singh Karwal from Jandu constituency Atma Nagar. Police have arrested 6 people in this case.
After the violent clash between the two parties, there was chaos in the court complex as well. Two persons were injured in the clash, in which one person was shot in the chest and back while the other was injured in the hand.
Both the parties appeared in court in February 2020 to hear the case registered at the Model Town police station. A fight broke out between the two sides in the street behind the court. After which the matter reached to firing. The injured have been identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Sahil and Himanshu.
After the shooting, 2 people were taken into custody by the police on the spot, while the rest managed to escape. Police sealed off the entire area. The police have also recovered bullet casings from the spot. The police have arrested Manjinder Bhalla alias Mani, Gurcharan Singh alias Rinku, Mastan alias Rambo, Deep alias Sukhdeep, Lovedeep and Shamsher Singh alias Bhola in this case.

Joint Commissioner Soumya Mishra said that one of the accused had a licensed revolver, from which the shots were fired. The statements of the complainant Gurcharan were to be taken in the court in the case registered in the Model Town police station. He said that sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for false imprisonment), 160 (punishment for rioting), 148 (inciting riot when armed with deadly weapons) ), 149 (Unlawful assembly of Indian Penal Code), 506 (punishment for making criminal threats) against the six arrested accused.
