6.3 magnitude earthquake in Mexico

Mexico Earthquake: Earthquakes were felt in Mexico on Monday. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the tremors were felt at 2 am IST. The earthquake measured 6.3 on the Richter scale. The National Seismological Center has not yet confirmed any loss of life or property due to the earthquake.

Earthquakes occurred twice in May

Earthquake intensity

Earthquakes with a magnitude less than 2.0 on the Richter scale are classified as micro and are not felt. 8,000 earthquakes of the micro category on the Richter scale are recorded every day in the world. Similarly, earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.0 to 2.9 are classified as minor. A thousand such earthquakes occur daily. Apart from this, earthquakes of very mild category are of 3.0 to 3.9 intensity, which are recorded about 49 thousand times in a year.
