Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: To uplift the nutrition and health status of pregnant women and lactating mothers under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, around 68500 beneficiaries will be disbursed an amount of Rs.20 crore till 31st March 2023.

Expressing this, Punjab Health Systems Corporation Chairman Raman said that the government gives Rs.5000/- in three installments (Rs. 1000+2000+2000) to women aged 19 years and above on the birth of their first live child. . Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, this amount is provided subject to fulfillment of specific conditions to uplift the nutritional and health status of pregnant women and lactating mothers.

Chairman Raman Bahl said the Matru Vandana Yojana is a step towards ensuring that every pregnant woman gets adequate care during pregnancy and lactation. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to the well-being of mothers and children in the state and this scheme is a reflection of that commitment.

Chairman Mr. Raman Bahl has appealed to all the pregnant women of Punjab to take advantage of this scheme and ensure good care for themselves and their babies. He said that the payment of financial assistance is made directly in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
