Amritsar: The 39th anniversary of June 1984 Ghalughare was celebrated today at Shri Akal Takht Sahib. In the morning after the indulgence of Shri Akhand Path Sahib, the functions were conducted. A large number of Sikhs arrived at Shri Akal Takht Sahib. Sri Akhand Path Sahib kept at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on June 4 was worshiped today and prayers were offered paying homage to the martyred Singhs. Explaining the oppression of the government in the prayer, prayers were also offered for the prosperity of the nation. After this, the sacred edict of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s Dhur Ki Bani was taken.

After the prayer, the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh spoke on behalf of the Sikh community and spoke about the concept of Sikh kingship. Jathedar, recalling the history of 1984 riots, said that the government of 1984 has given deep wounds to the heart of the Sikh community by attacking Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh has said that the sun may rise from the west but the Sikh community can never forget 1984.

• The Jathedar said that the Sikhs will never forget the 1984 Ghallughara, nor can it ever be forgotten, because its wounds are very deep.
• He said that the governments did not even try to apply ointment to our wounds.
• He said that we need to strengthen our institutions.
• Today we should forget our differences and sit together under the patronage of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and consider this matter.
• Our political opposition is a different matter, but these institutions should not be weakened in the guise of political opposition.
• He said that today there is a great need to gather Sikh power.
• Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, our Sikh sects, Sikh organizations, all these organizations are our strength and we will not let them weaken.
• Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Harpreet Singh appealed to Sangat and Sikh organizations and Sikh organizations to gather Sikh power under the leadership of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
• Jathedar said that there is no need to seek justice from the government. Because the governments do not want to give us justice.

Jathedar said that on the contrary, the governments have started creating a narrative against us. Jathedar said that a narrative is being deliberately created that Sikhs have remained a minority in Punjab. He said that today it is necessary to go in caravans in the villages. He said that our generation is being destroyed through drugs. The Jathedar said that those who have strayed away from us, have fallen, are addicted to drugs, let us bring them back and connect them with Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

He told the Sikhs to associate themselves with Naam Bani and take Sikh power, then we do not need to beg from the government and we can do what is in our hearts. He said that if the Sikh power gathers, we can bend the governments. He said that we should be strong socially, religiously, politically and economically. He said that the more we are reminded of 1984, the stronger the Sikh nation will be.

Ragi Singhs enthralled the congregation by performing Vairagamai kirtan. Leaders of many political parties, heads of religious sects, heads of organizations, members of martyrs’ families participated on this occasion. A special thing was seen that the entire place in front of the statue of Akal Takht Sahib was surrounded by the police in civil uniform and the task force of SGPC in black turbans while the Sangat participated in the function by standing along the boundary or far away.
