Identification of 556 places for rehabilitation in Jharia

Rs 5.50 lakh will be given in lump sum
Coal India will spend Rs 6,000 crore on the rehabilitation plan. Apart from this, Rs 4,000 crore is already available. Even after this, if there is a shortage of money, then the Central Government or Coal India will bear it. A lump sum amount of Rs 5 lakh per family and Rs 50 thousand will be given as expenditure on transport.
Ministry of Skill Development will develop necessary system
Along with this, it was decided in the meeting that the work of providing basic infrastructure like road, rail, drinking water, electricity facilities in the resettlement area will be done by the concerned ministry. The concerned ministry will also provide means of livelihood. Along with this, people will be trained for the means of livelihood. For this, the Ministry of Skill Development will develop necessary mechanism.
Recommendation will be sent to cabinet
Soon the recommendation of the committee will be sent to the cabinet for approval and the rehabilitation work will be started as soon as it is approved. Apart from the Cabinet Secretary, Coal Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, Additional Secretary, Land Resources Department, Hukum Chand Meena, Jharkhand Government Chief Secretary, Coal India Chairman, BCCL CMD Sameeran Dutta, Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh and other officials were present in the meeting.
81 dangerous out of 595 landslides and fire sites
Out of total 595 landslide and fire sites identified under Jharia Master Plan, 81 sites are most dangerous. It is the priority of the Ministry of Coal to rehabilitate people from high risk sites in the first phase without delay. In such a situation, after getting the approval of the Revised Master Plan, the work on it has started fast.
BCCL has the responsibility of removing 900 coal workers
A total of 15,425 families will be removed from 81 high risk fire sites under the Revised Jharia Master Plan. These include 1,896 legal title holders, 12,656 non-legal title holders and 900 BCCL families. It is the responsibility of JRDA and district administration to rehabilitate LTH and non-LTH families. The responsibility of removing 900 coal workers has been given to BCCL.
