Lucknow: Kerala journalist Siddiqui Kappan has been released from jail today. Siddiqui Kappan has been released from jail a day after furnishing a bond in the court for bail. An officer informed about this.

Siddiqui was booked by the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Subsequently, in February 2022, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a case against him for receiving funds from the banned People’s Front of India (PFI). While applying, a case of money laundering was also registered.

Talking to the media after being released from jail, Siddiqui Kappan said, ‘I have come out of jail after 28 months. I want to thank the media for supporting me. False allegations were leveled against me. I am happy to come out now.
