Punajb News: Reiterating the state government’s zero tolerance policy against corruption, Punjab Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua on Tuesday directed all the departments to dispose of the vigilance cases pending in the concerned departments as soon as possible to eliminate the scourge of corruption in a more efficient manner. are given

Presiding over the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that strict action should be taken against the corrupt and tainted employees under the commitment of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. All cases under section 17A and 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 should be disposed of in a timely manner. He also took notice of many cases pending in various departments.

Janjua said that this matter needs to be investigated with full seriousness so that this anti-corruption campaign can be brought to fruition.

The Chief Secretary emphasized the need to dispose of such matters at the earliest in view of larger public interest. He reviewed each case pending with the concerned Administrative Secretaries and asked them to ensure disposal of these cases in a fast track and result oriented manner. Mr. Janjua further said that he himself will regularly review the progress of these cases so that it can be brought on fast track mode.

During the meeting, the officials told the Chief Secretary that 14 of the pending cases have been approved and the investigation of the rest is also ongoing.
