WhatsApp Users are in every corner of the world. So the instant messaging platform keeps working on new features to improve the experience of its users. Now WhatsApp is coming with a new feature, after which users will not have to depend on Google Drive for data transfer.
Now it will be possible to migrate data without Google Drive backup. This feature is currently rolled out for beta testers. According to a new report by WhatsApp news and feature reporting website Wabitinfo, users will soon be able to migrate their data from one device to another without the involvement of Google Drive. The report states that the company has started rolling out the feature to some beta testers as part of Android beta build 2.23.9.19.
Apart from this, the report also states that the company will add a dedicated chat transfer feature in the settings section of the platform. Once the user taps on it, a QR code will appear to scan and the data will start migrating to the new device without any hassle. This will be a useful feature for Android device users and will reduce users’ dependence on Google Drive.
The company has not yet announced the rollout of this feature, but it is expected that this feature will soon be available for Android devices in the near future. Apart from this, it is also expected that this feature will be available for iOS users as well.
WhatsApp has recently introduced a series of new features like companion mode, disappearing messages and many more. In fact, the company wants to provide a better experience to its users as well as stay connected with them and therefore keeps increasing the enthusiasm of the users with new features.
