Tesla Model Y Steering Wheel falls off while Driving Company is under Investigation

Tesla’s Model Y, which is among the big electric car makers, is getting complaints about the steering coming out. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reported that it is aware of two incidents in which the steering wheel fell off its column while the SUV was in motion.

Bloomberg की Report An estimated 1,20,89 vehicles are involved in the investigation launched last week, reports NHTSA’s website. These vehicles were delivered to customers without the bolt that holds the steering in place. However, no one has been reported injured in these incidents. Tesla has not commented on the issue. Even before from NHTSA Tesla, Its products and the company’s Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk have been investigated. The company last month recalled 362,758 electric vehicles after NHTSA raised concerns that Tesla’s automated driving technology could increase the risk of crashes.

In the US, a Tesla owner from New Jersey posted some photos on Twitter in which the steering wheel of the Model Y appeared to have come off. This customer reported that Tesla had agreed to replace the vehicle and that NHTSA had contacted them about the issue. Model Y is an important product for the company. The company recently started manufacturing the vehicle at its two plants in Austin, USA and near Berlin in Germany. Last year, Tesla delivered more than 1.2 million units of the Model Y and Model 3 combined.

The company posted record production and deliveries in the fourth quarter last year. However, the company’s numbers were below analysts’ estimates. The reasons behind this are logistics problems, demand fall, high interest rates and slowdown. Tesla delivered 4,05,278 vehicles in the last quarter of last year. In the same quarter of the previous year, Tesla had delivered 3,08,600 vehicles. Tesla’s production in the fourth quarter was 4,39,701 vehicles.
