You can call e-methane, e-kerosene or e-methanol as e-fuel. Renewable energy is an inexhaustible fuel.
You can understand this with an example. E-fuel is a type of hydrocarbon that is produced by separating hydrogen and oxygen from water using renewable energy. The hydrogen is then separated from the carbon dioxide. When it comes out after filtering from the air, it turns into methanol. It is then converted to gasoline using ExxonMabil licensed technology. This is called e-fuel.
How many types of e-fuel are there?
There are two types of e-fuel. First gas e-fuel and second liquid e-fuel. Gas e-fuel consists of liquid H2 produced from renewable hydrogen and e-GNL produced from methane gas. Whereas, liquid e-fuels include e-fuels such as methanol and e-crude. It is also called synthetic crude oil. Which is prepared from kerosene and e-diesel.
Many countries are considering e-fuel as the fuel of the future. There is zero emission in this and many countries including India have set a target of bringing the emission rate to zero. Thousands of billions of dollars will be needed to bring e-fuel in a big country like India.
