Weekly weather : The weather is constantly changing. People are troubled by the heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given weather information for the next five days. The department said that the maximum temperature is expected to be three to five degrees above normal in the next five days in northwest, central and eastern India. Many parts of the country are already recording high temperatures which are usually recorded in the first week of March. This has raised concerns about the intense heat and heat wave this year.

IMD said in a statement that the maximum temperature is likely to be three to five degrees Celsius above normal over most parts of northwest, central and eastern India during the next five days. The department said that there is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature over northwest India during the next two days. However, after this the mercury is expected to rise by two to three degrees Celsius.

The mercury can go up to 40 degree Celsius

An IMD official said that in the first fortnight of March, the mercury may rise to 40 degree Celsius and above in one or two meteorological subdivisions of northwest India. The meteorological department has attributed the unusually warm weather in February to several factors, with the absence of a strong western disturbance being the primary reason. It is noteworthy that strong western disturbances bring rain and help in keeping the temperature low.

Increased heat in Delhi

On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded between 35 degree Celsius to 39 degree Celsius at most places of northwest, central and west India. National Capital Delhi Delhi recorded its third hottest February day since 1969 on Monday with the maximum temperature reaching 33.6 degrees Celsius at Delhi’s primary weather station Safdarjung Observatory. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1 °C on 26 February 2006 and 33.9 °C on 17 February 1993.
