Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in the National Wrestling Championship

Asian Games gold medalist Vinesh Phogat has won the gold medal in 55 kg at the Senior National Wrestling Championship organized by the Ad Hoc Committee of the Indian Olympic Association in Jaipur.

Demonstrating his seasoned skills, Vinesh defeated his opponent Jyoti from Madhya Pradesh 4-0. Along with this, Haryana won the title with 189 points in the senior national wrestling competition held in Jaipur.

Wrestler Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal. Vinesh Phogat was playing for Railways. Haryana's Nirmala, Anshu, Jyoti have won gold. The 29-year-old, who represents the Railway Sports Promotion Board, had earlier won gold in the 50 kg category at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games. He also won the 53 kg category at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

After winning the gold medal, wrestler Sakshi Malik presented the gold medal to Vinesh Phogat on the podium. On Vinesh's victory, Dangal girl Geeta Phogat wrote on social media – “Sister Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in the senior national championship, congratulations sister.”
