Wrestler Vinesh Phogat has shared a poem after the Delhi Police filed a chargesheet against former Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Vinesh Phogat on Friday tweeted the popular poem ‘We Want Justice’ by young poet Pushyamitra Upadhyay, who lives in Uttar Pradesh’s Etta, with the hashtag ‘Suno Draupadi Shastra Uho Lo’. Many veteran wrestlers of the country including Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, Olympian Vinesh Phogat have been demanding the arrest of Brijbhushan Sharan Singh for a long time.

Brij Bhushan has faced serious allegations of sexual harassment. The government had assured the agitating wrestlers that a charge sheet would be filed by June 15 in this case. After receiving assurance from the government, the wrestlers postponed the agitation.

The Delhi Police on Thursday recommended dropping the charges under POCSO against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and filed a chargesheet on charges of sexual harassment and stalking. A cancellation report has been filed in the Patiala House Court regarding the case of sexual abuse of a minor wrestler by the Delhi Police.

The court will hear the cancellation report on July 4. Along with this, in the case of six adult wrestlers’ allegations against Singh, the police have filed a charge sheet in the Rose Avenue court, for which the court has fixed June 22 as the date for consideration.
