Vigilance has arrested building inspector Vishal Rampal and clerk Gurwinder Singh Guri posted in the municipal corporation for taking bribe. He took a bribe of 6000 rupees in two installments. Vishal Rampal has now been transferred to Municipal Corporation Amritsar.
SSP Ravinderpal Singh said that a case has been registered against the said employees after investigation of an online complaint registered in the Chief Minister’s anti-corruption action line. The accused had asked for a bribe of 15,000 in exchange for issuing NOC of the property but the deal was settled for 6,000.
He said that the complainant, Jugal Kishore, a resident of Habowal, Ludhiana, had accused both of them of taking bribe. The complainant has recorded the conversation in this regard in his mobile phone.
SSP Sandhu said that a case has been registered against both of them in Vigilance Police Station Ludhiana and they have been arrested. Tomorrow they will be produced in the court and remanded in which they will be questioned about bribery.
