Vacancies in IAS and IPS promotion quota

Vacant Posts of IAS and IPS: Rajya Sabha has notified a total of 1,365 vacancies in Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 703 vacancies in Indian Police Service (IPS). Besides, there are 1042 vacancies in Indian Forest Service (IFS) and 301 vacancies in Indian Revenue Service (IRS).

Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said, “The process of filling up the vacant posts is going on. The central government is making efforts to fill up the vacant posts. He said that the Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Examination (CAE) every year to fill vacancies in IAS, IPS, IAF and IRS on direct recruitment basis.

The Minister said, selection committee meetings are held with Union Public Service Commission, State Governments to fill vacancies in IAS and IPS promotion quota. The government has increased the annual recruitment of IAS officers through CSE to 180 till CSE-2022.

IPS recruitment has been increased to 200 after CSE-2020. Along with this, IFS recruitment has been increased to 150 and IRS recruitment to 301 in 2022.
