Uttarakhand: Strong preparations for Chardham Yatra, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave necessary instructions

Dehradun: With the opening of the doors of Gangotri-Yamunotri Dham on 22nd April and then Shri Kedarnath on 25th April and Shri Badrinath Dham on 27th April, the Chardham Yatra will formally begin in Uttarakhand. Concrete preparations are being made by the state government for the Chardham Yatra. In this sequence, today Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took a meeting and issued necessary guidelines to the officers.

Compulsory registration of locals for Chardham Yatra is over

The Chief Minister said that the compulsion of registration of local people for the upcoming Chardham Yatra should be done away with. All the devotees coming to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand will be taken for darshan during the Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand. Arrangements should also be made for the darshan of the devotees who have made bookings in hotels and homestays for Chardham Yatra. Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami gave these instructions to the officials while reviewing the preparations for the upcoming Chardham Yatra at the secretariat.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that all preparations should be completed on time for systematic, smooth and safe Chardham Yatra. Devotees coming to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand should also visit other major religious and tourist places of the state along with Chardham Yatra, for this a wide publicity should be done about the major religious and tourist places of the state. For this, awareness campaign should be conducted by the tourism, police and transport department through various mediums.

Promotion of vocal for local

In order to promote Vocal for Local, the Prime Minister has appealed to the devotees to spend 05 percent of their travel expenses on local products. In order to promote local products in the state, some products should be promoted on a large scale. Local products should also be kept in GMVN. Information about the local products of the state should be made available to the general public. Proper arrangements for crash barriers should be made on Chardham Yatra routes. There should be proper arrangements for living and sleeping of the drivers at the parking places on the travel routes.

Devotees should be stopped only once for questioning

The Chief Minister said that proper arrangements should be made by the police for crowd management for the upcoming Chardham Yatra. Whatever necessary information is to be taken from the devotees, should be taken only once at the entry point of the state. It should be ensured that the devotees coming to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand do not face any problem. The departments from which personnel are on duty for the Chardham Yatra, the personnel from those departments who voluntarily want to go on Chardham duty, should be given first priority.

Instructions to make health camp and passenger shed

He also said that whatever health camps are being organized on the Chardham Yatra, they should be organized in a systematic manner. Some local people should be kept as traveling friends for Chardham Yatra. Arrangements should be made for the drivers to stay and sleep in the parking places on the travel routes. Special care should be taken for the fitness of the vehicles coming on the Chardham Yatra, for this coordination should be done with other states as well.

Nagnyal, IG Mrs. Riddhim Agarwal, Additional Secretary Mr. C. Ravi Shankar, MD GMVN Mr. Vinod Giri Goswami, District Magistrate Rudraprayag Mr. Mayur Dixit, District Magistrate Chamoli Mr. Himanshu Khurana and District Magistrate Uttarkashi Mr. Abhishek Ruhela were present through virtual medium.
