US Finance Minister Janet Yellen will visit India next week to attend a meeting of G-20 finance ministers and central bank governors. During this, issues related to the war in Ukraine and the challenges of a stronger, more flexible and global economy will be discussed.
Giving this information in a statement on Friday evening, the Finance Department said that Yellen will also address a press conference in Delhi on February 23 during her visit to India. She will discuss the resilience of the US and the global economy in the face of challenges including Russia’s illegal incursion into Ukraine at the G-20 meeting and highlight the Treasury Department’s key priorities.
The next day, she will also participate in both the sessions of the G-20 Finance Ministers’ meeting on ‘International Financial Framework, Sustainable Finance and Infrastructure’ besides ‘Financial Sector and Financial Inclusion’. “Yellen will unite with allies to hold Russia accountable for its illegal invasion of Ukraine and partner with countries to mitigate the effects of the war,” the department said. Yellen will also work with partners to address challenges and build a stronger, more resilient, global economy.”
