Let it be said that the wheat crop of farmers in Punjab-Haryana has been badly damaged. Along with this, the tomato crop of the farmers of district Sangrur has been destroyed. Jagtar Singh, a farmer of Qila Bharia village of the district, had planted tomatoes in 7 acres of land 3 months ago, the rain destroyed his entire crop. After that, the farmer himself drove the tractor and plowed the crop sown with his own hands. Now the distressed farmers are demanding compensation from the government.

Due to continuous unseasonal rain, Jagtar Singh’s 7 acres of tomato crop was so terrible that it was completely destroyed by water and Jagtar Singh was forced to destroy the tomato crop planted with his own hands.

While talking, Jagtar Singh said that he had planted tomato crop in 7 acres of land 3 months ago. On which he spent 50,000 rupees on one acre and so far he has spent about 3,50,000 rupees on 7 acres of land. Due to recent rains, his tomato crop has been completely destroyed.

He said that I had tried to drain the rain water but it is raining continuously, due to which his crops were ruined and now he is forced to do it himself. He said that I earned Rs 1,00,000 per acre from this tomato crop of mine. Because of this, I now had an estimate of 7,00,000 rupees from the 7 acre tomato crop. But I myself am destroying this crop, which has caused me great loss.

The farmer further said that now I have nothing to support the family, now I will sow corn crop in the land and it will incur expenses. Along with this, farmer Jagtar said that my appeal is that the government should compensate me for my loss.
