Under-17 Schedule for Asian Wrestling Trial released

The wrestlers’ strike at Jantar Mantar continued on the 22nd day today over the arrest of the president of the Indian Wrestling Federation Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Meanwhile, the ad hoc committee has released the trial schedule for the Under-17 and 23 Asian Wrestling Championship.

Competition trials will be held from May 17 to 20 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. In which trials of two to three weight classes will be conducted every day. These trials will be held in Sonepat and Patiala. Ad hoc committee member Bhupinder Singh Bajwa will also be present in Sonepat.

It will have trials in Sonepat and Greco-Roman for freestyle category and Patiala for women wrestlers. All its preparations have been completed. Ad Hoc Committee Member Bhupinder Singh Bajwa, Sai Wrestling Team Head Coach Jagminder Singh and Arjuna Awardee Wrestler Ramesh Kumar Gulia will be present in the selection committee for the trial process in Sonepat. Meanwhile, Bhurinder Bajwa said that there will be videography of the trial process as well. All Mates will have a different camera. Wrestlers will get two kg exemption during weigh-in.

Dronacharya awardee Suma Shirur, Maha Singh Rao and Arjuna awardee Alka Tomar have been included in the selection committee for the trials of women and Greco-Roman wrestlers in Patiala.
