Vigilance has named 16 persons, including a former minister, in the multi-crore transport tender scam in the Food and Supplies Department. A challan has been presented in the court against 8 of them. While four persons have escaped in it. Among the two accused, the then district manager of Pangrain, Surinder Berry, surrendered in the court of CJM Ludhiana. He has been granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Another Pangrain accused, Jagandeep Dhillon, has also been granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Sandeep Bhatia, the contractor who violated the Food Grain and Cortez Policy, has also surrendered in the court of Ludhiana CJM Radhika Puri. Radhika Puri’s court sent Sandeep Bhatia on one-day remand.

Orders to surrender Dhotiwala in two weeks

Three accused in the multi-crore transport tender scam in the Food and Supplies Department have been declared absconders by the court. It includes deputy director of food supply department RK Singla, second agent Surinder Dhotiwala and third contractor Jagrup Singh. In this case, the agent Surinder Dhotiwala filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court twice after the anticipatory bail was canceled by the lower court.

ED is now looking at the multi-crore scam

There are 16 accused including former cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the multi-crore scam in the Food and Supplies Department. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has full attention on all of them. Regarding this matter, the ED raided the premises of Ashu and some officials of the Food and Supply Department and interrogated them for hours. Some bank accounts and cash have also been frozen in this case.
