Krishna Nagar has made history by winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. In the final, Krishna Nagar defeated Hong Kong’s Kai Man Chu 2-1.
In fact, in the SL 6 class final, Krishna Nagar defeated Kai Man Chu of Hong Kong 21-17, 16-21, 21-17. This is India’s fourth medal in badminton at the Tokyo Paralympics. This is India’s 5th gold in the tournament. Before Krishna, Pramod Bhagat won gold, Suhas Yatiraj won silver and Manoj Sarkar won bronze in badminton.
With this, India’s medal tally at the Tokyo Paralympics has risen to 19. India has so far won 5 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze medals in this tournament.




This is India’s 5th gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. Krishna Nagar is only the eighth Indian athlete to win gold in the Paralympic Games. Murlikant Petkar won India’s first gold medal in the Paralympic Games in 1972.
