But when Khaira appeared in the court again on September 30, the court dismissed the remand petition of the police and sent Sukhpal Singh Khaira to jail under judicial custody for 14 days. Relief to Khaira from the High Court
Sukhpal Singh Khaira, caught in the drug case, has got a big relief from the Punjab Haryana High Court. The court has asked Khaira to file a bail application directly in the High Court. Earlier, Khaira filed a High Court petition declaring his arrest as unconstitutional. On which the government was instructed to respond within 24 hours on October 9. But Khaira’s son Mehtab Singh Khaira says that on Tuesday, once again, the lawyers of the Punjab government did not appear in this case because they had to come from Delhi. The hearing was also tried through video conferencing, but due to technical problems, it could not be done. Son Mehtab Singh Khaira said that in the father’s petition, a bail application was also filed, which the court has approved on the basis of merit, which is a big relief for him. Khaira’s lawyers are filing a bail plea in Justice Anup Chitkara’s court today. Which will now be debated in the court on October 11.
Allegation of Khaira’s son
Mehtab Singh Khaira, son of Sukhpal Singh Khaira, has made another accusation against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann while tweeting. He said, ‘I have come to know that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has also installed a special CCTV in my father’s barracks so that he can always be monitored. It has come to know how attached the Chief Minister has become to my father that now he has started spying on my food and sleep. This is a hateful thought, but my father will emerge stronger’.
Transfer of nearest DSP to Khaira
DSP posted in Kapurthala has been transferred overnight. His closeness with Sukhpal Singh Khaira is being said as the reason for his posting in Muktsar. The transfer is a topic of discussion because first the DSP has been immediately relieved on oral orders, then after a few hours late night transfer orders were sent through e-Mela. However, DSP has described this transfer as port of duty. Currently, no one has been posted in his place. DSP Amrik Singh was posted as DSP in Bhullath for about one and a half years from where Khaira is MLA.
DSP Amrik Singh said that I have not had any contact with Sukhpal Singh Khaira nor have they come together. Accepting the orders issued by the department, they have joined Muktsar.
