It is sold more expensive than Rugda in the market. The main reason for being expensive is the taste of desi mutton in it. Also, it comes in the markets in very small quantities and for very few days.
Rahul explains that it grows under the sakhua tree in the forest, and is seen in very few places in the forest. People go to the forest at 4 am to collect it. If a person is lucky, he collects up to 2 kg. Then we buy from them and sell in the market. I currently sell 20 kg of Teknus daily.
There is a special way to make vegetables
Generally there are two ways of making it in Hazaribagh. The only difference between the two methods is the process. In the first method it is made by boiling it in water, and in the second it is cooked after washing.
To cook, first cut or boil the tecnus into small pieces, add oil in a pan and fry the onion in it, then add ginger, garlic and chili paste and fry well. Then add tekans in it to cook. And add salt as per taste. After it is half cooked, add turmeric, coriander powder and garam masala. After it is cooked well add coriander and take it out. Now the technicians are ready.
