He said that the investigation found that during his tenure as Finance Minister from 2018 to 2021, Manpreet Badal bought two expensive plots of 1560 square yards in Model Town Phase 1 at a low price due to political pressure. The spokesperson said that during the investigation of the complaint number 11-2022, it was found that the former finance minister using his influence with the connivance of BDA officials and employees uploaded fake maps during the bidding of plots in the year 2021 misleading the general public. were, so as to prevent the participation of the general public in the bidding process.

The vigilance spokesperson said that the investigation revealed that the bid was made by the same lawyer Sanjeev Kumar from three bidders namely Rajeev Kumar, Vikas Arora and Amandeep Singh from the same IP address. Manpreet Badal, Superintendent Pankaj, Rajeev Kumar, Vikas Arora, Amandeep Singh and the then BDA Administrator Bikramjit Singh Shergill conspired to cheat the government and cause damage to the exchequer by purchasing the said plot at a low price.

The spokesperson said that efforts are being made to arrest Manpreet Badal, PCS officer Bikramjit Shergill and Superintendent Pankaj in the said case. Three accused Rajiv Kumar, Amandeep Singh and Vikas Arora have been arrested.
