Under the Bihar Police Under Service Commission, women belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Extremely Backward Classes will get relaxation in height in the appointment of Police Sub-Inspector Daroga and Praraksh Sub-Inspector (Attendant). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced this in the assembly on Monday. He said that the government will immediately look into the minimum height limit of 155 cm prescribed for women belonging to Scheduled Castes, Tribes and Extremely Backward Classes.
BJP’s Nandkishore Yadav had asked the government that the minimum height of 165 cm for the general category and backward classes in the physical efficiency test for the candidates passed in the main examination of Bihar Police Under Service Commission, and extremely backward classes for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe men. Five cm less than the height of the general category i.e. the minimum height of 160 cm has been prescribed. Along with this, the minimum height for female candidates of all categories has been fixed at 155 cm.
Yadav said that women of general category have been given 10 cm height relaxation as compared to men, then why SC, ST and EBC women are not being given 150 cm relaxation as compared to 160 cm for men of their class. Is. In response to this, the Chief Minister made it clear that he would look into the matter immediately and further action would be taken.
