Northern Railway has stopped some express trains in Punjab for three months. This decision has been taken due to fog. Northern Railway has issued instructions to stop two trains running in Sirhind section of Ambala division for three months. This has been confirmed by Traffic Inspector Tejinder Pal.

Tejinder Pal said that train number 14506 inter city train starting from Nangal Dam and going to Anandpur Sahib, Kiratpur Sahib, Bharatgarh, Ghanoli, Rupnagar, Nawan Morinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Beas, Amritsar while returning from Amritsar on this route. Vali train number 14505 has been closed for three months.

He informed that Train No. 14505 Inter City Express will remain closed from December 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024 while Train No. 14506 Inter City will remain closed from December 2, 2023 to March 1, 2024. Due to the closure of two trains by the Railways, passengers and businessmen may face difficulties in going to Amritsar Sahib, Beas and Jalandhar, Ludhiana etc.

Northern Railway has restricted the speed of all trains running in different directions in view of the fog. In this regard, Tejinder Pal, traffic inspector of railway department, Rupnagar, said that the speed of every train running in Sirhind section under Ambala division during fog is reduced every year as per the decision taken by the higher authorities to avoid accidents. He said that the speed of vehicles will be 40 km per hour during fog.

Traffic Inspector Tejinder Pal said that the foggy season has started, so people should not take the risk of walking or crossing the railway track. He explained to such people that it is not possible under any circumstances to stop a train suddenly to save someone coming in front, whereas a train running on a railway track can cover a distance of 25 to 30 meters in just 10 seconds. takes

He said that in the foggy weather, vehicles are not visible not only at night but also during the day, while many vehicles are electric and their sound is less audible, so always walk away from the railway track, do not cross the closed railway gate. Do and also at railway stations, if one has to cross the railway track due to any compulsion, first ensure that no vehicle is coming from any direction.
