Chandigarh: The Punjab Students’ Union (Lalkar) has given invitations across Punjab for demonstrations in favor of the stalwarts agitating for justice against sexual harassment and against the repression of the Delhi Police. Under which today in the state capital Chandigarh on the evening of May 29, the Punjab Students Union (Lalkar) raised its voice in favor of Bhalwans in Sector 17.

In this protest, the students and people strongly condemned the undemocratic, dictatorial incident of yesterday. The leaders of PSU (Lalkar) said that yesterday the Delhi Police forcibly washed away the struggling activists and took them to the police station, tore down the tents at Jantar Mantar, and prevented them from gathering peacefully in front of the new Parliament.

Victims of sexual exploitation have been fighting for their rights for months. To break their struggle, the Modi government is using various methods. Instead of arresting and punishing rapist Brij Bhushan, the Modi government is standing in favor of him. Those daughters who made the country proud by winning medals in wrestling are today on the streets for their honor and the Delhi Police dancing on Modi’s cue trampled those struggling daughters under their boots, washed them on the streets.

He also said that the demand of the organization is that Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the head of the Wrestling Federation of India, should be severely punished and he should be dismissed from all positions. Modi government’s attitude is undemocratic, dictatorial which prevents even peaceful march. In the protest, the Modi government’s effigy was also blown and angry slogans were raised.
