Exemption in Stamp Duty and Fee for Registration: Giving a big relief to the people of Punjab, the Cabinet under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has extended the deadline for giving 2.25 percent discount in stamp duty and fee charged on land-property registration to May 15. has increased to The decision in this regard was taken during the meeting of the Cabinet chaired by the Chief Minister at the local Circuit House.

Expressing this, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that in the larger public interest, the Cabinet has approved a 2.25 percent discount in stamp duty and fees for those who have registered land/property by May 15. One percent additional stamp duty, one percent PIDB will be charged to the registrants. Fee and 0.25 per cent special fee will be exempted.

Let us tell you that the state government had first implemented this scheme till March 31 and after receiving a huge response from the people, it was extended till April 30 and now this date has been extended till May 15.

Approval for creation of 7 posts in Drug Testing Laboratory

The Cabinet has approved creation of 7 posts in Drug Testing Laboratory (Ayurveda) in public interest. Recruitment to these posts will facilitate the functioning of the laboratory which will benefit the common people and increase the continuous testing of Ayurvedic medicines so that medicines can be supplied to Ayurvedic hospitals, dispensaries and others of the state government. This step will help in maintaining the quality and purity of Ayurvedic medicines in the state.

A green light to seek the services of experts on agricultural issues

The Cabinet has given the go-ahead to seek the services of experts with the aim of improving the environment, arresting the falling ground water level, taking the farmers out of the wheat-paddy crop cycle and improving the financial condition of the farmers. The services of these experts will be acquired by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Punjab so that other necessary steps can be taken in the interest of the farmers of the state.
