The Vigilance Bureau arrested three employees including the Planning Officer

As part of the campaign against corruption in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has today arrested the Planning Officer Manveer Singh and two other employees posted at the office of District Town Planner Fatehgarh Sahib on the charge of taking bribe from a resident of Amloh. Two other arrested accused have been identified as Junior Engineer (JE) Dhikshu Saini and driver Tejinder Singh.

Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the accused have been arrested on the complaint of Amloh resident of Balram Kumawat.

He said that the complainant has filed a complaint at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Patiala Range that the said employees of Pudda had demanded a bribe of Rs. The deal was fixed for Rs 40,000 and out of this they have already taken Rs 30,000 as bribe from him.

The spokesperson said that after the preliminary investigation of this complaint, the team of Vigilance Bureau, Patiala range, set a trap and caught the driver Tejinder Singh red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses. In this case, the said Planning Officer and J.E. has also been arrested.

In this regard, a case has been registered against the Planning Officer, JE and the driver at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Patiala Range under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation of this matter is going on.
