In another pro-employee decision, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government on Monday regularized the services of around 100 highly qualified teachers from recognized universities outside the state. These teachers were providing regular services for less than 14 years.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that during the recruitment of 7,654 and 3,442 teachers during the last 14 years i.e. 2009 and 2011, some teachers had obtained higher qualifications through distance mode from recognized universities of other states, due to which their services were taken. are These teachers have not been regularized for 14 years.

Bains said that when this matter came to his attention, he had given instructions to complete the regularization process by forming a high-level committee under the leadership of the director of the secondary education department.

According to the Education Minister, now only a few teachers are left to be regular, whose documents are being scrutinized, which will be completed during this week itself. Director Education Department Secondary Education Sanjeev Sharma handed over letters to these teachers to regularize their services. Bains said that as per the orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, efforts are on to eliminate the word ‘raw teacher’ from the dictionary of the education department.
