After a petition filed by Ishjit Randhawa and Sanjot Randhawa, sons of deceased producer Gurdev Singh Randhawa, the court has issued these orders to Daljit, Parneeti and Imtiaz Ali in Ludhiana court. Chamkila’s wife Gurmail Kaur had given the rights to make the biopic to the complainant father-son on 12 October 2012. 5 lakhs were given to Chamkila’s wife for this. There was no time limit for making the biopic.
Producer Gurdev died on November 3
Gurdev Singh, father of complainant Ishjit Randhawa, died on November 3, 2022. When the petitioner started making arrangements for making the biopic, he contacted Gurmail Kaur, but she started delaying the matter by making some excuse. Later it came to know that a film is already being made on Chamkila and Bibi Amarjot Kaur.
Chamkila’s wife will also have to appear
After the matter reached the court, 2 and 3 hearings have been held regarding this matter. The film was initially blocked from theatrical release, after which it was considered to be released on the OTT platform. But now the court has clearly prohibited its print from being released anywhere. Along with this, the actor and Chamkila’s wife have been ordered to appear in the court on May 3.
