The posts of SDOs in PSPCL and PSTCL will be filled by September

PSPCL and PSTCL Jobs: Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) have provided 3972 jobs to the youth since April 2022 under the mission of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth of the state.

Expressing this, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that PSPCL has contributed maximum in this recruitment drive by providing employment to 3224 eligible and skilled youth of the state. He said that PSPCL has provided 2630 jobs under direct recruitment and 463 jobs on compassionate basis from April 2022 to June 2023 with the aim of providing better services to its consumers.

Also, he said that apart from this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann handed over appointment letters to 131 clerks of PSPCL during a function on July 6, 2023.

Giving further information, the Power Minister said that meanwhile PSTCL has provided 748 jobs under direct recruitment from April 2022 to June 2023. He said that 139 posts of SDOs have also been advertised by PSTCL, the recruitment process of which will be completed by September this year.

He said that the vacancies of SDOs in Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) will also be filled through this recruitment. The Power Minister said that PSPCL, which is responsible for supplying electricity to more than one crore households of various categories of consumers, and PSTCL, which is the agency responsible for controlling and mitigating power transmission losses as well as setting up a world-class transmission system, are playing an important role in the overall development of the state.

Harbhajan Singh ETO further said that it was also possible due to the timely steps taken by the electricity department of the state that this year the record highest demand of 15325 MW electricity was met.
