Bureau report : After the death of a student studying in Punjabi University, Patiala, a case has been registered against the students in the case of assaulting a professor during the commotion in the campus. While giving his statement to the Urban Estate Police, Professor Surjeet has written the names of three students. While the names of other students are not known, an FIR has been registered against unknown students.
The professor is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital, he has not been discharged on Friday. The police have not arrested any student. After the case was registered there, the anger of the students increased and they have prepared a demonstration.
The commotion after the death of student Jashandeep
Jashandeep Kaur was studying Integrated Language Course in Punjabi University for 5 years. Jashandeep had trouble breathing. Despite this, there is an allegation that the professor had harassed the student Jashandeep. Due to this problem, his health deteriorated and the family members took him home on Wednesday. Where Jashandeep passed away, the professor was held responsible for his departure from the world. Alleging this, the students protested on Thursday. During the conversation outside the VC office, there was an argument between the professor and the students and then a fight broke out.
Police registered a case
Inspector Amandeep Singh said that we have registered a case on the statement of the professor. No student has given his statement to the police. Further action is being taken as per law.
