Big blow to Sanjay Popli from High Court, regular bail petition rejected

IAS Sanjay Popli, who was arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in a case of corruption, has received a big blow from the High Court. The High Court has rejected his regular bail plea.

It may be mentioned that the Vigilance Department had arrested IAS officer Sanjay Popli and his assistant secretary Sandeep Vats on the charge of asking for one percent commission in the sewage tender found on Kariyam Marg of Nawanshahr. Let it be known that Sanjay Popli was posted as the Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

Let us tell you that in June last year, the Punjab Vigilance team raided the house of IAS officer Sanjay Popli in Sector-11 and recovered 12.5 kg of gold, three kg of silver bricks and 3.5 lakh rupees in cash.
