Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann towards the welfare of employees, Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema said here today that the Cabinet has been constituted to prepare a standard operating system for implementing the old pension scheme. The Sub-Committee and the Sub-Committee of Officers will come up with such an excellent pension model for the employees of the Punjab Government which will be implemented by the Governments of other states.

During a meeting with the Old Pension Restoration Struggle Committee here at Punjab Bhavan, Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Cabinet Sub-Committee and the Chief Secretary-led Sub-Committee are holding continuous meetings to prepare a pension model which is rational. Along with this, it will secure the future of Punjab government employees. He said that during these meetings, the procedures adopted by other states to restore the old pension are also being studied.

Welcoming the suggestions given by the struggle committee during the meeting, the finance minister said that he will keep these suggestions in the next meeting of the cabinet sub-committee so that the necessary decision in this regard can be taken at the earliest. He said that the present Punjab government is of the opinion that the post-retirement life of its employees should be safe and happy.

After this, during a meeting with the Punjab State Aided Schools Teachers and Other Employees Union, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema told the union that their demands regarding the 6th Pay Commission and the transfer of employees working in aided schools from one management to another should be seriously considered. has been He asked the officials of the school education department to send the proposal regarding the 6th pay commission to the finance department and submit a report during the next meeting regarding the necessary steps to implement transfers from one management to another.

Meanwhile, during the meeting with the Old Pay Scale Restoration Joint Front, the Finance Minister held a meeting with the employees of the Finance Department and asked them to prepare a report on the financial arrangements regarding their demands.

The Finance Minister assured the employee organizations that the purpose and policies of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are completely transparent and clear. He said that the government had started action in this regard from the first day of its tenure and concrete decisions are being taken continuously under this series. He said that special cabinet sub-committees have been formed to remove the obstacles in the implementation of these pro-people decisions.
